The holidays may be over, but you can enjoy a warm cup of Snowman Soup all winter long! This Speech Snack is a simple one, but a great way to address direction following and sequencing.
Language tasks:
- Ask your students to repeat all the steps in the proper sequence.
- Ask them to name as many chocolate foods as they can to address CATEGORIZING.
- Name different things you drink that are HOT vs COLD.
Here’s your bonus activity!
Make a snowman tea light while you sip your snowman soup.
You will need:
- one tea light (the snowman’s face),
- a pipe cleaner (earmuffs),
- small pom-poms (earmuffs),
- black and orange sharpie markers (eyes and nose),
- ribbon(scarf)
- glue dots
- a magnet with self- adhesive
Ask your students to determine what the materials will be used to make. Can they use the clues (materials) to problem solve and deduce what the end result will look like?
Bend and glue the pipe cleaner to the top of the light. Add a popm-pom to each side of the pipe cleaner.
Color the candle flame with an orange Sharpie (this will be the snowman’s nose) and add black eyes and a mouth.
